Wireless Energy and Environmental Solutions Provider Names Technology Veterans Rob Van Tuyle and Pat Weston to Executive Financial and Engineering Roles


FOLSOM, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SynapSense Corporation, a leading provider of wireless energy and environmental instrumentation solutions based on its patented OneClick Architecture(TM), today announced that the company has named Rob Van Tuyle its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Pat Weston its Vice President of Engineering.

Van Tuyle, a certified public accountant, brings more than 20 years of experience working in the technology industry to his new role. Previously, Van Tuyle served as CFO for Sierra Logic, a venture-backed storage semiconductor company that was sold to Emulex Corporation in October 2006. Prior to Sierra Logic, Van Tuyle was CFO for ShareWave, a venture-backed 802.11 wireless semiconductor company that was sold to Cirrus Logic in October 2001. Over his career, Van Tuyle has raised more than $100 million in venture capital.

Weston, a 35-year technology industry veteran, most recently served as the top engineer at Watchguard Technologies, where he oversaw large engineering development programs for network appliances. At SynapSense, Weston is responsible for leading the engineering effort for SynapSense's wireless instrumentation solutions. Prior to joining Watchguard, Weston led the high-energy development of Rio digital music players at Diamond Multimedia. Weston also served in a variety of critical engineering roles during his 13-year tenure at Intel Corporation, including leading the effort to develop the world's first PCMCIA products.
