Alex Alben, a Seattle technology veteran who has held executive positions at Realnetworks and Starwave, has joined Seattle audio and video search startup Pluggd as vice president of corporate strategy. It also has named Fred Tietze -- formerly of Eyeblaster and Excite@Home -- to the position of vice president of sales and business development.
And it has opened an office in New York City, which will be led by Tietze.
Pluggd, with less than 20 employees, raised $6 million from Intel Capital, DFJ Frontier and others last summer.
